Roofing Fort Worth

Dallas and Ft. Worth Roofers dealing with record snow.

By now, we all know that last Thursday more snow fell in the Dallas and Ft Worth area in 24 hours than had ever been recorded in 128 years of weather record keeping. We all awoke last Saturday morning to the sound of chain saws as homeowners sought to dig out from under the trees felled by massive ice accumulations?
Did you have trees or limbs fall on your house? If you did, you should contact a Dallas or Ft Worth area Roofing repair contractor to come out and check for roof damage. The damage left behind by falling tree limbs is often hard to spot by homeowners, and only an experienced Dallas or Ft Worth area roofing repair contractor can spot small problems before they become large ones. If you wait until you see leaks or water marks on the walls or ceilings of your home, significant and often costly damage has already been done.

A Note of Caution
Severe weather events always bring out the worst of those wanting to capitalize on a homeowner’s urgency for quick and cheap roofing repairs. You should check out your Dallas and Ft Worth area roofing repair contractor of choice very carefully. Are they willing to provide a no obligation quote? Do they offer a warranty for their work? And, are they willing to provide you the names of satisfied roofing repair customers. A qualified and experienced Dallas and Ft Worth area roofing repair contractor will gladly provide you with all of those things. Don’t allow your family to be victimized by part time, fly by night roofers. Be sure you are dealing with local Dallas and Ft Worth professional roofing Contractors with the ethics and experience to repair your roof right.

Material price increases causing a stir among Homeowners and Insurance Companies

A national announcement from the two largest roofing material manufacturers to all large scale roofing companies states the price increases from month to month are to be expected. All large scale suppliers who sell roofing products have been raising their material prices almost every month by five, ten, or even up to fifteen percent. This increase causes all roofing companies to in turn raise their current prices of the roofs they are selling. The next price increase for our region is scheduled for March 2, 2009. This price increase on the 2nd will take effect with all shipments regardless of order entry date. We actively monitor costs and may have to implement additional increases in the future. As we approach March 2nd we will communicate specific price increases by product. Now, what does this mean for the Homeowner? With price increases coming straight from the manufacturer to the supply houses and the down to the roofers, these increases are then passed directly onto the homeowners. These increases can directly effect your settlement with you insurance provider. The insurance companies are not usually current with all price increases going on in the market and more often are about a month or even up to 3 months behind in the market. What does this mean? Well, your insurance settlement may be under valued and you may not have enough insurance settlement funds to do the work at the current market price. How do you combat against this? You should always hire an experienced roofing contractor who knows how to deal with the insurance companies and always is current on the market prices. We help people everyday who have come across this problem and are always successful in resettling their claim. The best way to make sure you are going to get a proper settlement is to not wait on making the claim. Due to constant price changes in the market and different rules and mandates from The Texas Department of Insurance, this can greatly effect your settlement. The key factors are to not wait and work with your contractor and the insurance company to make sure you get the proper settlement.

Evidence of Hail Damage

On the day after a hail storm the evidence has normally melted away, but there are outward signs that damage has occurred. Knowing what these signs are help give building owners notice that maybe the insurance company should be called. At Eclat Roofing in Dallas, TX, we all too often hear from a building owner only after additional preventable damage has occurred.

In the case of this aluminum attic vent cover hail signs are obvious. Damage to the roof surface is hard to see from the ground. Knowing when to call a professional to inspect your roof is the key to protecting your property from further damage. Filing for an insurance claim promptly is important during a catastrophic storm because of the amount of time that it may actually take to get your property repaired.
